How HandyFox works
How do I book a job through HandyFox?
Describe the work in the HandyFox app, confirm the details, choose a pro, and send a request with times that suit you. The pro can accept, decline, or propose a change. Agree on the scope, price, and time before the work starts. After the work, the pro sends an invoice. The app keeps the job chat, bill, and payment flow together.
Start with the job details
HandyFox is a home services app for New York City residents and local pros. This guide explains the app flow, not where a pro is free to work. Start with a clear account of the work you need.
In the app, you save a job location and a default payment card before you can book. You describe the task in an AI chat. Check the job summary before you confirm it. Fix wrong details rather than assume the pro will know what you meant.
Include the size of the task, access rules, and any supplies you need. Our service guides explain what to gather for each type of work.
Choose a pro and ask for a time
Search results include a pro's bio, rate, rating details, and past job count. These fields help you compare profiles. They are not a guarantee of skill or a free time slot.
You send a request to one pro with proposed times. This is not a bid board. The pro can accept, decline, or propose new terms. Those terms can include a time, hourly rate, or flat price. A sent request is not an accepted booking.
Use the job chat to settle the scope. Ask what is included, what costs extra, and who will bring supplies. Pros choose the areas they serve. Do not assume that every NYC address has a match.
Review the work and invoice
The app tracks the job from request through acceptance, work in progress, and completion. A card hold may be placed before the work. A hold is not the final bill.
After the work, the pro submits an invoice for labor and expenses. Check the time, rate, and each expense. The app supports payment through Stripe. Read pricing for how the amounts are worked out.
Both sides can rate the job. The app also supports disputes and staff review. Keep the scope and any agreed changes in the job chat so there is a clear record.
If plans change
Check the app's cancel option and the current terms before you commit. Do not treat silence or a chat message as proof that a job was cancelled. If you need help, contact support.
Read trust and safety before you hire. The terms explain the limits of HandyFox's role.
