HandyFox for New York City pros
How do I join HandyFox as a pro?
Set up a HandyFox pro profile, choose your services, set rates, and add work areas and open times. Connect Stripe for payouts. Pros choose where they work. They work as their own businesses. As of October 19, 2026, the default platform fee is 20% of labor plus expenses, taken from pro earnings. Staff can change it. A profile does not promise jobs or income.
Who can join?
HandyFox is for New York City residents and local pros. The site terms require users to be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. Pros are not HandyFox employees. You are responsible for deciding which work you can safely and lawfully take on.
Choose the services and areas that fit your work. A profile does not reserve jobs or guarantee that your open hours will fill.
What does pro setup involve?
The app's service groups are furniture assembly, moving, painting, cleaning, and mounting.
You add a profile photo, choose services, and set an hourly rate for each service. You choose the areas you serve and add times you can work. The app also supports an optional short-notice rate increase.
As of October 19, 2026, the setup rules require a photo, at least one service, an active area, future work times, and Stripe transfers enabled. These are not proof of a license, insurance, or a background check. Read trust and safety for the limits.
How do job requests work?
A client chooses a pro and sends a request with proposed times. You can accept, decline, or propose a change. The app supports hourly and flat-price terms. Confirm the scope, access needs, supplies, and expected expenses in the job chat.
After the work, you submit an invoice for labor and expenses. Keep the bill clear so the client can check it against the agreed work.
What fees and payouts apply?
As of October 19, 2026, the code's default platform fee is 20% of labor plus expenses. That fee comes out of your earnings. It is not just a fee on labor. A fee credit, when it applies, can reduce it. These are defaults, not confirmed live settings. See pricing for the source and an example.
The app uses Stripe for payouts and provides a link to your Stripe dashboard. Payouts can be pending, in transit, paid, failed, or cancelled. Do not treat an invoice or a pending payout as money received. This page does not promise a payout date.
A setup earnings estimate uses your listed rates, calendar hours, and the fee rate. It is not a forecast of booked work. Your open hours may not fill, and no number of jobs or level of income is promised.
