Trust and safety on HandyFox
Are HandyFox pros vetted or insured?
Do not assume a HandyFox profile means a pro has passed a background, ID, license, or insurance check. As of October 19, 2026, the current setup checks cover a photo, services, work area, future time slots, and Stripe payout readiness. They do not prove trade skills or safety. Before you hire, ask for the proof your job needs and agree on the scope in writing.
What the current checks mean
As of October 19, 2026, the app's pro setup rules require a profile photo, a listed service, and an active work area. They also require future work times and Stripe transfers to be enabled.
Those are setup checks. A photo does not prove identity. A listed service does not prove a license. Payout readiness does not prove skill, insurance, or a clean record. We do not claim that all pros are vetted, insured, or background-checked.
The terms say pros are separate businesses. HandyFox does not do the work or guarantee its quality, safety, timing, or legality.
What to ask before a job
Match your questions to the risks of the work:
- Ask whether the pro has done this kind of task before.
- Ask what tools, supplies, and help the task needs.
- Ask for any license or insurance proof your job or building needs.
- Check that names, dates, and the type of work on those records fit.
- Set the scope, price basis, and time in the job chat.
Do not rely on a rating alone. Read the review details and ask about gaps that matter to you. A past job is not a promise about the next one.
For mounting, discuss wall type and the item's weight. For moving, ask who supplies a vehicle and lifting help. Do not proceed with work that feels unsafe or is outside the agreed scope.
Keep a clear record
The app supports job chat, invoices, ratings, and disputes. Put changes in the chat. Check each invoice item against what you agreed. A dispute process is a way to raise a concern, not a promise of a refund or cover for damage.
Keep copies of the details you may need to explain a problem. Share only the personal details needed for the job. The privacy policy explains how HandyFox handles data.
When you need help
Email [email protected] for help with the site or a concern. Do not treat that inbox as an emergency service. If there is an immediate threat, seek emergency help rather than wait for a chat reply.
Read how it works for the app flow and pricing to understand the bill. Check the scope and any proof you need before you accept a job.
